A popular defense tactic when someone is injured in an accident with minimal property damage is to argue that there is no way such a “minor impact” could cause the injuries. In many cases now, insurance companies are hiring biomechanical experts in an attempt to support this specious claim. Often times these so-called experts do not have all the facts necessary for a proper analysis. No amount of smoke and mirrors used by the insurance company can change the fact that severe injuries can result from even so called “minor impacts”.
What is most important is the injury sustained by a crash victim and how those injuries have changed their lives. These expert opinions can often be defeated by common sense: if the car crash had not occurred, this person would not have sustained these injuries. Don’t feel as the injuries sustained are any less damaging just because property damage is minimal.
