Recent statistics reveal that people who get stopped and frisked by the New York Police Department in East Harlem, New York are the most likely to end up facing a criminal charge or violation of some level. These numbers revel possible civil rights violations. Said New York civil rights violation attorney David Perecman, police may legally stop and frisk individuals in an effort to reduce crime, but that officer must have a reasonable suspicion of illegal activity. Its believed by some that the NYPD has violated civil rights for departmental gain.
