i4i LP v. Microsoft Corp.

Brief for Defendant-Appellant Microsoft Corporation

Microsoft's appellate brief, filed with the U.S. Court of Appeals, seeking to overturn a $290 million patent infringement judgment entered against Microsoft by federal district court judge Leonard Davis. In his ruling on behalf of i4i, a Canadian company, Judge Davis also entered an injunction against Microsoft that prevents the company from selling some versions of the extremely popular Microsoft Word (2003) word processor. Judge Davis also added additional damages onto the verdict as a result of purported "improper arguments" at trial.
