Practice/Organization Description

Amy Elizabeth Stewart represents corporations in complex business and commercial litigation, including insurance coverage and bad faith litigation, contract disputes, business torts, breach of fiduciary duty claims, non-competes, fraud and misrepresentation, deceptive trade practice claims; construction litigation; healthcare litigation; ERISA litigation; and professional liability litigation.

In addition, Ms. Stewart represents clients as insurance coverage counsel for claims arising under CGL and specialty liability policies (D&O, E&O, fiduciary, professional liability, EPL). As coverage counsel, Ms. Stewart advises her clients regarding the existence and scope of coverage, issues of policy interpretation, claims handling matters and claim resolution, primarily with respect to litigation against directors and officers (including securities fraud litigation under state and federal laws, ERISA litigation, shareholder derivative claims and governmental investigations) and fiduciaries.

Amy Stewart PC handles insurance coverage and bad faith litigation, as well as other business litigation. Complex contract and insurance disputes are their niche. In addition to in-house legal departments with insurance coverage and business litigation needs, the firm assists litigation and appellate boutique firms that do not have insurance coverage expertise “in house.” Along with accepting referrals, the firm contributes expertise as co-counsel or completely behind the scenes as consultants.
