Practice/Organization Description
For the past eleven years, my practice has focused on legal research and writing in business and constitutional litigation.
When I came up with the concept for JD Supra, I didn’t know what “Web 2.0” meant, or even the difference between “uploading” and “downloading” a document. But, I wanted to create a website where members of the legal community could share their court filings, decisions, articles and forms to create a free research resource for their practice, connect with like-minded colleagues, and receive the recognition they deserved for their quality work. I knew that current technology made this possible.
It soon became apparent to me, though, that JD Supra would benefit the media and legal consumers, as well. By posting their documents on JD Supra, lawyers could give the media simultaneous access to newsworthy court filings and decisions, and show (rather than simply tell) potential clients that they have experience and expertise with the issues they are facing.
Over the past year and a half, JD Supra’s small but dedicated team has worked hard to make JD Supra a user-friendly hub for information about the law and the people and organizations whose work shapes, defines and gives meaning to it.
Thank you for joining me in this venture. And, check back often, as we will be rolling out many new and exciting features during the coming year.
