22 years' law practice experience. Appellate and criminal trial lawyer, including post-civil judgment, post-criminal-conviction, habeas corpus, mandamus, prohibition and trial preparation for these matters.

Solo practitioner in Pearland, Texas.

I believe you can't control how brilliant you or your adversary are, but you can work to be more prepared than your adversary.

In all things I seek the critical path, the vital center, the heart of a matter. I seek to speak with the tongue of mortals and of angels, but not to be heard because of my many words.

I want to do what my client would do if my client had gone to law school, been on law review and had 22 years of legal experience.

My mother passed on these sayings from her mother. They have some application to law practice. "Many hands make light work," and "Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it."

My mother had memorized big chunks of the Cokesbury Worship Hymnal and sang as she did her chores. That music, that language marinated into me all the way down to the bone. . .
