Mr. Janich is also recognized as a very skillful and effective litigator, with a long track record of success in representing corporate and individual clients in significant employee benefits and executive compensation litigation matters.

Mr. Janich uses his extensive knowledge, skills and experience to advise corporate and individual clients regarding employee benefit plan design and administration issues, executive compensation strategies, tax and securities law aspects of employee benefits, compliance with federal and state regulations, multinational aspects of employee benefit plans, benefit issues involved in mergers and acquisitions, qualified and non-qualified plans for tax exempt organizations, including church and municipal plans, structuring ESOPs and other business succession strategies, and estate planning considerations.
With his knowledge and experience in employee benefits and executive compensation, Mr. Janich has particular skill assisting executives and other professionals with retirement plan issues, and in developing effective wealth preservation strategies on their behalf.
In litigation, he has successfully represented corporate and individual clients in signficant claims involving employee benefits, executive compensation, employment and estates issues. Due to this success, as well as his reputation for high personal and professional integrity, Mr. Janich is often asked to serve as benefits litigation counsel to other law firms and corporate law departments, and has served in the roles of mediator or arbitrator of employee benefits and executive compensation disputes. He is available to provide expert witness testimony in cases involving a wide range of benefit and compensation issues.

His articles have appeared in prestigious legal publications, including journals and treatises sponsored by The Bureau of National Affairs, American Bar Association, National Association of Stock Plan Professionals and National Center for Employee Ownership. His writings have been cited as authoritative in court opinions issued by various state and federal courts, as well as in law journals. Mr. Janich frequently gives presentations at the annual and midwinter conferences of these and other bar associations and professional organizations.
CIVIC AND COMMUNITY LEADER
In his role as Benefits Committee Vice Chair of Marian College's Board of Trustees, Mr. Janich counsels the college, a not-for-profit institution, on design and operational issues as well as legal developments that affect its benefit plans. Mr. Janich is also active with several other charitable and educational institutions.
Mr. Janich is admitted to practice in Illinois, U.S. District Court and Trial Bar for the Northern District of Illinois, Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, U.S Tax Court and U.S. Supreme Court.
Mr. Janich received his law degree from The John Marshall Law School and his masters of law degree in tax from DePaul University College of Law.

Mr. Janich is former chair of the Chicago Bar Association's Employee Benefits Committee.
