Established in 1973, Ellyn Law LLP is a Toronto business litigation and arbitration firm. We act on cases involving commercial litigation and arbitration, agency and distributor arbitration, international arbitration, shareholder disputes, oppression remedy, libel and defamation, foreign judgment enforcement and foreign arbitral award enforcement.

Acting Locally.”, we have represented individual and corporate clients successfully in investment, judgment enforcement, employment law, e-commerce, libel and defamation, breach of contract, fiduciary duty, trade secrets, insurance, copyright, real estate and commercial leasing litigation/arbitration matters in Canada, USA and 30 other countries. Senior Partner Igor Ellyn began his litigation practice more than 35 years ago. He is a Certified Civil Litigation Specialist with an international reputation and is a former president of the Ontario Bar Association. Mr. Ellyn has distinguished peer rating from lawyers.com. Mr. Ellyn is a chartered arbitrator and mediator and a member of the arbitration panels of ADR Chambers International, the ADR Institute of Ontario and the Better Business Bureau of Central and Mid-Western Ontario. He is well-known in the community and serves as Honorary Legal Counsel of Canadian Jewish Congress-Ontario Branch.
Igor Ellyn is also a prolific author and speaker on litigation and advocacy matters. Many of his articles are posted at www.ellynlaw.com and elsewhere on the internet. He is the co-author of the Canada chapter of Enforcement of Money Judgments (Juris Publishing, NY). His acclaimed articles on Shareholder Disputes, Winning Business Appeals, Arbitration and other aspects of advocacy are published on the internet. He has made presentations to lawyers at the Canadian Bar Association, the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Professional Institute, the New York State Bar Association, the Cornell University Institute of Labor Relations and the Center for International Legal Studies.
Our partner Orie Niedzviecki, who is also admitted to practice in the District of Columbia, is the head of our estate litigation group, and also acts on commercial litigation matters in the above fields. He also admitted in the District of Columbia; an experienced litigator in business disputes, including commercial, construction, professional malpractice and defamation and head of our estate litigation group.
Evelyn Perez-Youssoufian [2005] and Michael Blinick [2009] are capable associates whose focus on business litigation matters and increasing experience enables our firm to serve local and global clients more efficiently.
