Established in 1973, Ellyn Law LLP is a Toronto business litigation and arbitration firm. We act on cases involving commercial litigation and arbitration, agency and distibutor arbitration, shareholder litigation, libel and slander, and enforcement judgments. Our firm also acts in international commercial arbitration and estate litigation.
We are members of two international lawyer groups, the INBLF and the AEA.
Senior Partner Igor Ellyn began his litigation practice more than 35 years ago. Building on his success in serving corporate and individual clients, our firm aproaches each case with the objective to offer Sound Advice, Innovative Stratety, Effective Negotiation and Experienced Advocacy.
We have represented individual and corporate clients successfully in investment, judgment enforcement, employment law, e-commerce, defamation, breach of contract, fiduciary duty, trade secrets, insurance, copyright, real estate and commercial leasing litigation/arbitration matters. Our clients include business people whose interests are jeopardy. We have also acted for Canadian financial instutions, three foreign banks and several Fortune 1000 companies or their principals. Our clients include Canadian firms with with global business interests.
Our partner Orie Niedzviecki, who is also admitted to practice in the District of Columbia, is the head of our estate litigation group, and also acts on commercial litigation matters in the above fields.

Igor Ellyn, QC, founder and senior partner of the firm, is a trial, appellate and ADR counsel and a past president of the Canadian Bar Association-Ontario. Mr. Ellyn is a chartered arbitrator and mediator and a member of the arbitration panels of ADR Chambers International, the ADR Institute of Ontario and the Better Business Bureau of Central and Mid-Western Ontario. He is well-known in the community and serves as Honorary Legal Counsel of Canadian Jewish Congress-Ontario Branch.
He accepts arbitration and mediation engagements in international and domestic disputes. Hearings can be conducted in English or French. Mr. Ellyn also speaks Romanian and Hebrew and has some comprehension of German. He is listed on www.adrweb.ca.
Our firm also provides counsel services to U.S. and other foreign lawyers and attorneys in conflicts of interest, jurisdiction and judgment enforcement matters and in the enforcement of international arbitral awards under the New York Convention.

Evelyn Perez-Youssoufian, Associate, called to the Ontario Bar in 2005. after completing articles in Ottawa. Holds law degrees from Faculty of Law, University of Windsor (LL.B.) and a JD from University of Detroit Mercy. Evelyn joined Ellyn Law LLP after gaining experience in civil litigation and criminal in other firms. She is an integral part of our firm's litigation team. Evelyn has appeared on numerous occasions before the Provincial Offences Court, the Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Court of Appeal. She also speaks Spanish and Armenian.
