Steven M. Gursten is recognized as one of the nation’s top experts in serious car and truck accident injury cases and automobile insurance no-fault litigation. As partner of Michigan Auto Law, Steve works with peope seriously injured in car, truck and motorcycle accidents throughout Michigan.
Steve has received the largest jury verdict in automobile accident cases for four of the past eight years. In 2011, he received the second top-reported verdict for a car accident case and top reported verdict for a truck accident case, according to a verdicts and settlements report by Michigan Lawyers Weekly. In 2012, Steve received a $2.55 million jury verdict for wrongful death on behalf of an 83-year-old man in Macomb County - the top Michigan truck accident verdict.
Steve is extensively involved in the legal community in Michigan and across the country. He was president of the American Association for Justice (AAJ) Interstate Truck Litigation Group for the 2007-08 term. The national group is composed of truck accident attorneys working to make unsafe trucking companies follow the laws, and better prepare lawyers who handle serious truck accident cases. Currently, he is on the board of governors representing Michigan for the Association of Plaintiff Interstate Trucking Lawyers of America.
He frequently lectures at legal seminars for auto accident attorneys on topics such as trial advocacy, Michigan no-fault law, traumatic brain injury cases and maximizing settlements for those injured in serious car and truck accidents.
