Practice/Organization Description
Mintz Levin's Health Sciences Section attorneys work with clients on the most complicated and sensitive matters affecting their businesses. From managing responses to national investigations with potential civil, administrative and criminal liability to structuring and handling multi-million dollar corporate transactions, the Health Sciences Section attorneys provide legal services in matters of the greatest significance.
We have a national health law practice representing both for-profit and non-profit companies who provide health care, or service the health care industry, throughout the United States, and abroad. Our clients span the full spectrum of the health care industry, including hospital systems, managed care organizations, laboratories, long term care providers, medical equipment suppliers, behavioral health companies, pharmaceutical manufacturers and pharmacy retailers and biotechnology companies.
Our attorneys are well versed in mergers and acquisitions, public offerings of securities, private financings, development of services, affiliation agreements, joint ventures, strategic partnerships and other complex arrangements. In regulatory matters, we understand and keep abreast of the highly complex statutory and regulatory scheme that affects the health care delivery system such as licensing, reimbursement and the protection of personal health information. Our attorneys are also highly skilled in proceedings involving false claims, kickbacks and the full range of compliance activities. Many of our Health Sciences attorneys have gained expertise and developed important relationships through service in those state and federal agencies that play a key role in regulating the health care industry.
