Practice/Organization Description

Mintz Levin provides legal services and expertise on all aspects of immigration and nationality law to corporate clients and individuals in many different fields, from high technology and biotechnology to the professions to the performing arts. In addition to obtaining temporary work visas and permanent resident status for foreign nationals, the firm assists clients in becoming naturalized U.S. citizens, filing for political asylum, and solving problems with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) or State Department that may have developed prior to Mintz Levin's involvement. The practice serves the immigration needs of existing Mintz Levin clients as well as new clients who retain the firm for its experience in this area of law.

With an extensive track record working with and lobbying the government entities involved in immigration and naturalization matters, including the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, the State Department (including consular offices abroad), and the Department of Labor, Mintz Levin has developed a network of contacts and other resources that consistently benefits its clients in both routine and extraordinary matters. The firm's immigration practice is national and its consular practice extends around the world.

Susan Cohen, who founded and chairs the Section, is a nationally recognized authority in employment-based immigration matters and she frequently is invited to speak and write on relevant immigration issues She has extensive experience representing global corporations as well as individual foreign nationals from around the world.
