Nancy Zalusky Berg is one of the two founding partners in Walling, Berg & Debele. Since 1991 the firm has limited it's practice to all areas of family law, including but not limited to divorce, third party and post-decree custody, adoption (simple and contested) juvenile and child protection proceedings.
Nancy is recognized glass artist whose creativity in problem solving results in resolution of difficult and painful problems. Widely recognized for her leadership in mentoring young lawyers and teaching about the living the life of a lawyer she has written extensively on dealing with high conflict matters.
Nancy has 30 years experience as a trial lawyer who rarely finds it necessary to take an appeal. Recently writing about the ethical problems in the phenom of Collaborative Law, see the article Drinking the Kool-Aide at the firm website, Nancy is now working with an international network of lawyers to establish the practice of Cooperative Law.
Nancy has an international presence rarely found in the Midwest. She is President-Elect of the U.S. Chapter of the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyer. As a result she has connections in every major city in Europe, Great Britan, Hong Kong, Austrailia and South Africa.
Professional ethics have alwasys been a critical aspect of Nancy's practice. Participating in and finally chairing the Hennepin County Ethics committee for nearly 18 years and now serving her first term on the Board of the Office of Lawyers Professional Responsibility at the behest of the Minnesota State Supreme Court. In a unique nexus of her family law practice and interest in ethics Nancy also represents mental health professionals before their respective licensing boards.
