Served as chief campaign counsel for City of Paterson, New Jersey mayoral campaigns of Martin "Marty" Barnes, first African American Mayor of Paterson. Invited speaker on middle eastern affairs. Hannah Arendt was mentored by the great 20th century philosopher Martin Heidegger. Additional graduate courses included Sociology of Religion where Oliver conducted in-depth research on Chicago religious cults, under direction of acclaimed sociologist Tom Gannon,SJ. Oliver served as special features correspondent for The Al Riyadh and the Riyadh English Daily during the Gulf War. He has written on Biblical Archaeology and maintains a blog, "Reverb Politics." Oliver holds an A.B. (Bachelor of Arts) from Loyola University Chicago. A J.D. from John Marshall Law School, Chicago and a Certificate for advanced courses at Harvard Law School. Early affiliations were with the Paterson Redevelopment Agency, where he authored NJ Supreme Court legal briefs on urban renewal law. Professional career began by prosecuting cases for the Illinois Attorney General, Chicago, general law division. Clients include, Weight Watchers Int. leasehold litigation; Middle East Airlines; RAMCO / RAMTEK aircraft; Missions/Embassies to UN; LOT Air disaster litigation; ISRAELI research-filtration corporation and other complex and routine legal matters.

As a "top tier firm," Oliver represented corporations and persons, including film producers, recording artists and Broadway actors.
