Practice/Organization Description
Wagonheim & Associates serves as general counsel to privately held companies throughout the mid-Atlantic region. Our mission is to make our clients better, stronger, more secure, and more profitable. We primarily cater to companies earning between $500,000 and $100,000,000 in annual revenue. (Some earn more and some earn less, but that’s our niche.) We have also developed a robust practice performing transactional work for lending institutions and handling litigation in a variety of fields on behalf of insurance carriers and independent adjusters.
As general counsel to our privately held clients, we routinely field calls on topics ranging from hiring/firing, mergers & acquisitions, bringing on investors, government contracting, incorporation, collection, and general litigation. While we guide our clients through each of these day-to-day (or even once in a corporate lifetime) concerns, our role neither stops nor is defined by answering the phone when it rings or providing representation when called upon. Our role is more expansive. We are proactive, we keep our clients’ bottom line in mind with every recommendation, e-mail or visit, and many of the best things our clients get out of the relationship are free.
• We look for ways to put our clients together for work or sales opportunities
• We provide free seminars, books, and materials to clients and friends of the firm which (we hope) can assist them before they have to pay a lawyer’s bill.
• We use our contacts to make strategic introductions for our clients in fields ranging from contractors and developers to commercial bankers, accountants, auditors, and investment bankers, to name a few.
So…whether we are working as local counsel with a new client on a sole matter in Maryland or building a long-term relationship as general counsel, we work every day to make our clients better. We just happen to do it through the law.
