Practice/Organization Description

I hold a federal license to practice law in Mexico. With 15+ years of practicing, I am a corporate lawyer with real experience in telecom, IT, energy, automotive and overseas trading. I also have experience helping Mexican Government in matters related to energy, telecom and ports, worked as in-house attorney at American Express Mexico, and advised Chambers of Commerce and US Counties in relation to Mexican business.

I am very seasoned in consultancy, preparation and negotiation of documents for diverse transactions, advice and execution of regulation and public policy, preparing strategy for complex litigations and participating in such controversies in court.

During 4-years in a row, I was elected Technical Secretary to the Fixed and Mobile Telephone Operators Committee (Comité del Servicio Local) by all operators of the Mexican Telecom Industry. During that time, I represented the industry before Mexican Congress, local representatives, diverse authorities and COFETEL (telecom regulator) for suggesting the best public policies. The Committee is a non-governmental forum gathering all telecom operators for discussing and deciding telecom regulation.

I attended top-5 law schools in Mexico, obtaining a LLB at Law School of Universidad Panamericana (UP), and additional certificates for US Public and Private Law. Thereafter, two PGs from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) for Energy Regulation and Telecom, as well as having coursed Finance on the same Institute. LLM in Telecom and IT Law at the Strathclyde, Scotland, and Applied Economics from Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey (ITESM), as well as other courses related to business and industries of my practice.

Bilingual at English/Spanish and basic Nederlands.
