Andrew is a civil litigator with a focus on representing businesses in disputes with insurance carriers, banks, and other businesses. Those cases involve breach of contract, business torts, employment disputes, insurance coverage and bad faith. He counsels companies on business law, health care law, and employment law, and he drafts policies and contracts. He also represents individuals in select personal injury cases.
He has a special interest in fighting for policyholders in insurance coverage and bad faith cases. Before the state Supreme Court he argued that policyholders should have the right to assign their bad faith claims. The Supreme Court agreed. In that case, he co-wrote an amicus brief for United Policyholders, which was liberally quoted by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court in the Case Allstate Prop. & Cas. Ins. v. Wolfe. He has represented policyholders about a variety of kinds of insurance policies, both in seeking coverage and in litigating bad faith cases.
He also has significant experience in appellate litigation, having represented clients in around two dozen pieces of appellate litigation before state and federal courts, including two reported cases before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court in which he successfully advocated on behalf of amici.
Andrew is a current member of the Editorial Board of Litigation News, which is published by the American Bar Association's Section of Litigation. He has written articles on business law, employment law, insurance coverage issues, and litigation for various professional journals.
