Cheryl Picker – Appeals and Motions LLC

Practice/Organization Description

After many years of being a trial attorney in large firms in anti-trust and securities complex defense litigation, the next natural step upon relocation to New Jersey from California was to open an exclusively appellate law firm entitled Appeals and Motions LLC. I love to write and have combined the arts of trial law and written persuasion into the development of an appellate boutique. I take federal and state appeals from criminal, civil (including Qui Tam, ERISA, etc.) and agency final orders to either the Third Circuit Court of Appeals or state Appellate Divisions and Supreme Courts. I am also fluent in French which has led me to embark on interesting legal diversion such as assisting a well-known French car manufacturer from exiting all U.S. markets. Prior to law school, I co-directed Philadelphia's prison Over-Crowding Project funded by the DOJ and have taught at universities and colleges as an associate professor and adjunct. I now am finally using the paradigm of law to persuade appellate courts to believe in my client's stories that are well-documented from intensive legal research and preservation of the trial record.
