Daniel F. Freedman is an Associate Attorney with Tharpe & Howell LLP at the Los Angeles office. Mr. Freedman's practice is focused on matters such as environmental, land use, employment and municipal law, as well as entrepreneurship in areas such as software, internet and clean-tech.
Prior to joining Tharpe & Howell, Mr. Freedman worked as a Senior Associate with Liberman Associates, a boutique Los Angeles based environmental public affairs consulting practice. In this role, Mr. Freedman worked with private and public entities on state and federal regulatory issues relating to energy infrastructure, city and regional planning, and natural resources. Examples of projects and matters he worked on include waste-to-energy, offshore LNG terminals, solar energy, long-haul power transmission, regional transportation planning, climate change and stormwater management.
Mr. Freedman received his J.D., from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, where he received the Dean’s Service Award and was a selected as a Hagman Scholar for Excellence in Land Use Law. Mr. Freedman received his B.S. degree in Conservation Resource Science from the University of California Berkeley, with a minor in City & Regional Planning. Mr. Freedman also received his M.A. in Urban Planning at the University of California Los Angeles. He is admitted to practice law in California.
Mr. Freedman is also proud to serve as the board chairman of the Los Angeles Sustainability Collaborative, a non-profit organization dedicated to facilitating research and informing stakeholders on environmental issues affecting southern California.
