Jeff Wertheimer – Rutan & Tucker, LLP

Practice/Organization Description

I am a partner in the Employment and Labor Department at Rutan & Tucker, LLP. I have over 20 years of extensive trial and litigation experience successfully representing clients in federal and state courts throughout the State, in arbitration proceedings, and before numerous state and federal agencies, including California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement.

I have successfully obtained court and jury defense verdicts in a wide variety of labor and employment matters, including class action and multi-plaintiff wage and hour, harassment, disability discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, and breach of contract claims. Although I usually represent employers, I also negotiated a $16 million settlement for his client in a wrongful termination claim. I have been recognized by Los Angeles Magazine as a “Super Lawyer” for labor and employment in Southern California for 2005 through 2008.

* U.S. District Courts for the Central, Southern, and Northern Districts of California

* U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit

I received by B.A. degree in 1980 from Northwestern University, and my J.D. in 1985 from Case Western Reserve University, where I graduated Order of the Coif.
