Practice/Organization Description

Mr. Liu practices in the fields of intellectual property as well as nonprofit and exempt organizations law. Mr. Liu regularly advices clients on the gamut of issues related to the management of intellectual property portfolios, such as trademark selection, registration, monitoring, and enforcement; development of comprehensive trademark and branding strategies; negotiation of license agreements; and litigation/dispute resolution. He also manages and oversees foreign prosecution efforts for clients’ international trademark portfolios.

Mr. Liu also counsels clients on Internet, domain name, computer, software, music, and various other copyright issues, including negotiation of license, development, and independent contractor agreements; counseling on website legal risk management; obtaining television copyright royalties from the Copyright Royalty Board; and counseling clients on music webcasting statutory license requirements.

Additionally, Mr. Liu helps to establish nonprofit corporations, apply for federal tax exemption, draft bylaws and conflicts of interest policies, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
