As partner with Sassoon & Cymrot, I work with investors and business owners whose assets are over-leveraged, distressed or non-performing. I advise businesses that have difficulty accessing the capital equity and debt markets, and develop strategies for restructure and workout of business and real estate debt with lenders and secured creditors. I represent borrowers and lenders in the restructure, reorganization, sale and disposition of distressed businesses and real estate assets. I represent developers, investors, managers and lenders of hotel, retail, office, industrial and multi-family properties, and advise businesses who face leasing, financing or expansion needs.
As an attorney in private practice, I have represented Wall Street “conduit” lenders who provide commercial mortgage-backed securitized loans to finance commercial real estate. During the 1990’s, as senior attorney for the FDIC, I was involved in liquidation, sale and workout of failed bank/receivership assets in New England.
I began my career as a city planner/lawyer with the Boston Redevelopment Authority where I assisted in the re-draft of the Boston Zoning Code and handled the financing of affordable housing within the City Boston.
My experience in the private sector as well as municipal and federal government gives me a unique perspective to advise our business clients on regulatory, investment and development matters.
