Melissa Brown – Melissa F. Brown, LLC

Practice/Organization Description

My firm handles complex family law matters throughout the state of South Carolina. Our firm's services include divorce, alimony, equitable distribution, Prenuptial Agreements, custody, visitation, paternity, and family law mediation services.

Working with clients going through a difficult marital dispute or a party resolving a contested custody, visitation, and/or paternity matter involving their children, is a rewarding experience because my efforts directly impact each client's life in immeasurable ways. Thus, my team and I strive to provide services that help every client achieve reasonable, realistic goals.

I am proud to be Fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. I am also honored to serve on the Faculty of the Houston Family Law Trial Institute. Helping improve the practice of family law is a goal that I am striving to achieve through work as faculty member for other family law practitioners as well as through research, writing and involvement in other family law related organizations.

Involvement with the SC Family Law and ABA Family Law Sections has enhanced my law practice in numerous ways. Connecting with attorneys around the country benefits my clients and me through the collaboration of working with other leading family law practitioners, judges, authors, and even law makers, all of whom focus upon complex family law issues.

Speaking and writing about family law has enriched my knowledge of this area and kept me abreast of updates and breakthroughs. These efforts benefit my clients and save then money because I am often able to answer their questions without having to spend hours researching the law.

I enjoy helping clients through this very difficult time in their lives and strive to help the client's keep their assets, sanity and other family relationships healthy and intact throughout the process.
