Practice/Organization Description

I am a New York lawyer focusing on legal ethics, professional responsibility and legal malpractice. Attorneys and law firms come to me for advice on their ethical duties or to defend them against ethics allegations and legal malpractice claims. I guide lawyers through difficult conflict of interest questions, disqualification motions, law firm partnership negotiations, retainer agreement and billing questions, escrow issues and more.

In addition to my legal ethics practice, I represent media and entertainment clients in commercial and intellectual property disputes.

I speak regularly on legal ethics and professional responsibility matters, including legal ethics for entertainment and IP lawyers. I also contribute to the Legal Ethics Forum blog (www.legalethicsforum.com).

I serve as co-chair, along with Judge Barbara Jaffe, of the Ethics Committee of the New York Women's Bar Association. I also serve on the Ethics Committees of the New York City Bar Association and the Media Law and Resource Center (MLRC).
