Practice/Organization Description
Richard M. Wilner is a founding member of Wilner & O'Reilly, APLC, and is Board Certified by the State Bar of California as a Specialist in Immigration and Nationality Law. Mr. Wilner has received the coveted Martindale-Hubbel AV Rating, the highest legal and ethical rating that one can receive from one's peers in the legal community. Similarly, he has been awarded the title of Super Lawyer from 2007 to the present.
The U.S. immigration law firm of Wilner & O'Reilly, APLC has offices in Los Angeles, Riverside, Orange County and Salt Lake City, Utah. While the firm has practice groups in all areas of U.S. Immigration Law, Mr. Wilner's primary area of expertise is in business-related immigration, namely: E1/E2 investment visas, E-3/H-1B speciality occupations, TN visas, L-1 intracompany transferees and EB-5 investment related immigration.
Committed to public service, Mr. Wilner is the Co-Chair of the Orange County Bar Association's Immigration Law Section. He is on the Executive Board of the Orange County Jewish Bar Association and acts as the Military Assistance Program liaison between DHS and the Southern California Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyer's Association. He presently volunteers for Human Options Battered Women and Children's Center and previously served as a Commissioner on the State Bar of California's Immigration and Nationality Law Advisory Commission, where amongst other things, he assisted in writing the exam for lawyers seeking certification as a specialist in immigration law.
A native of Los Angeles, California, Mr. Wilner received his law degree (Juris Doctor) as well as a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Transnational Business Practice from McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific and the University of Salzburg, Austria. He also received a Certificate in International Law from the National University of Singapore and Bachelors of Arts degrees in Philosophy and Religious Studies from the University of California in 1992. He has also worked in Thailand and Vietnam.
Mr. Wilner is married and the proud father of two boys. When not working, his time is spent with family, deep sea fishing and practicing martial arts, specifically Brazilian JiuJitsu, Wrestling and Muay Thai.
