Practice/Organization Description
My practice, located in downtown Fresno less than a block from the County Courthouse, is currently limited to criminal defense. I handle juvenile cases, including Behavioral Court, as well as adult cases. I'm known as one of the people to go to if you have gang issues in your case, an area I studied in-depth since my first case as a legal intern. I practice in both state and federal courts in Fresno. And effective later this month, I will seek admission to practice also in the Northern District Court in California.
I have also done a significant amount of appellate work, including state and federal appeals and writs. My writ work has primarily included writs of mandamus/prohibition with or without requests for stays, and writs of habeas corpus.
Prior to becoming an attorney, I was heavily involved in the tech industry as a Director of Information Systems for North America's third-largest yellow pages company; wrote a chapter for a book by a Microsoft Canada employee; helped start a couple of Internet Services in the days before AT&T and others started offering the services directly to the public; held several industry certifications (MCP, MCSE, MCT, LCP, CCNA); and occasionally did freelance training in the areas of systems administration, Visual Basic programming, and network design and administration.
Effective November 1, 2008, I am relocating to larger offices in the Patterson Building overlooking Chuckchansi Park -- hopefully the view of the baseball diamond will not distract me too much!
