I am a partner with Dorsey & Whitney LLP, a full-service law firm headquartered in Minneapolis, MN. Dorsey has approximately 600 lawyers and 20 offices worldwide.
I started with Dorsey as an Associate in the Trial Department in September 1980. I have been a Partner with Dorsey since January 1986. During most of my Dorsey career, I was a Partner in the Trial Group. I currently am a Partner in the Labor and Employment Group, though I also have a general commercial litigation practice.
My practice focuses upon litigation that addresses, directly or indirectly, employment law. This includes the following types of claims: breach of contract, including litigation involving post-employment restrictive covenants; breach of fiduciary duty; misappropriation of trade secrets; usurpation of corporate opportunity; employment discrimination (race, sex, age, disability, and harassment claims relating to any of these protected classes); retaliation; whistleblower; negligent hiring, retention and supervision; intentional or negligent infliction of emotional distress; and virtually every other type of common law claim typically asserted in conjunction with a statutory claim, or independently.
I defend individual, multi-party, and class action claims of all varieties.
Supreme Court of Minnesota and all lower state courts. United States District Court for the District of Minnesota. Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Federal courts throughout the U.S. State courts throughout the U.S., as a pro hac vice participant.
