Ryan P. Siney is an associate in the Litigation, Corporate and Financial Services, Intellectual Property and International Practice Groups at Shumaker Williams, P.C.
Ryan’s practice focuses on advising large and small companies on all aspects of business, including formation or reorganization, contracts, raising capital, compliance with federal and state securities laws and resolving commercial disputes through arbitration or litigation. Ryan also helps clients to register, protect and enforce their intellectual property rights in trademarks, copyrights and domain names in the United States and internationally. Among the clients Ryan represents are entrepreneurs and businesses in the automotive, financial services, real estate, technology, transportation, health care and hospitality industries, as well as many other unique enterprises. He also advises clients in the entertainment industry regarding copyright and licensing issues.
Ryan has appeared before trial and appellate courts in Pennsylvania, Maryland and New Jersey, as well as various agencies including the United States Trial and Trademark Appeal Board, the World Intellectual Property Organization, the Pennsylvania Public Utilities Commission and local zoning hearing boards. He also serves as an arbitrator in Cumberland County and York County, Pennsylvania.
Ryan is an assistant editor of the Vindobona Journal of International Commercial Law and Arbitration. He regularly contributes articles to various industry and legal publications.
Ryan received a Bachelor of Arts cum laude from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and a Master of Science from Auburn University. He earned a Juris Doctor from The Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law, where he was elected to the Order of Barristers, named a Public Interest Advocate and received honors for academics in banking regulation. Ryan was twice selected to represent Penn State at the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna, Austria, where he was named among the top oral advocates. He now serves as a judge for the international moot competition. During law school, Ryan worked as a law clerk to Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice J. Michael Eakin.
