Shipkevich PLLC

Practice/Organization Description

Shipkevich PLLC assists clients in navigating the complexities of emerging futures, commodities, derivatives, and forex laws. We provide clients with transactional, litigation and advisory services in response to governmental inquiries and actions. Our attorneys advise broker-dealers and other small- to large-cap financial companies on regulatory requirements including: counsel on implementing supervisory and reporting obligations for Swap Dealers (SDs), Swap Data Repositories (SDRs), Swap Execution Facilities (SEFs), Futures Commission Merchants (FCMs) and Major Swap Participants (MSPs), restrictions on over-the-counter (OTC) trading, and drafting conflict of interest policies and procedures for Introducing Brokers (IBs), FCMs, SEFs, SDRs, SDs and MSPs. In addition to advising in matters regarding domestic financial regulation, we advise in matters regarding foreign financial regulation, extraterritoriality applications, corporate governance, federal registration, intellectual property, and insolvency. We advise our clients on achieving compliance with leading edge global industry developments.

Changing regulations have altered the financial market’s global landscape. Monitoring new, revised, and forthcoming rules and regulations from the CFTC and the NFA allows us to provide our clients with sound, timely counsel on changes in legislation. Shipkevich attorneys participate in CFTC rulemaking procedures, submitting comment letters regarding rule proposals by the regulatory entity and suggesting measures for improvement. Maintaining business compliancy with ever evolving legislation requires the type of fluency and expertise found in our highly specialized firm.

At Shipkevich PLLC, clients are provided with the proficiency of a large firm and the personal attention of a boutique practice. Our close-knit team is committed to providing clients with optimum service and leading edge counsel on the futures, commodities, derivatives, and forex markets. Balancing our clients’ needs with regulators’ demands is the pride and hallmark of our firm.
