Tamera H. Bennett is an accomplished music, trademark and copyright lawyer and mediator with a solid background in the music industry. She puts her heart and soul into seeking the best protection and advancement of her clients’ talents and interests.
In 2011 and 2012 Tamera was honored to contribute her legal thoughts to BILLBOARD magazine. She is currently serving her second term on the board of governors for the Texas Chapter of the Grammy Association. She is a past chair of the State Bar of Texas Entertainment & Sports Law section and a former adjunct professor at Dallas Baptist University.
Prepared with an undergraduate degree in Recording Industry Studies and a law degree from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law, Tamera represents clients in trademark, copyright and music law related matters. Tamera’s passion is combining her legal experience, her music business background, and her problem solving skills to 1) assist third parties in resolving disputes via mediation, and 2) work alongside entertainment industry veterans serving as a resource on legal issues.
A common trend in Tamera’s client base is the need for providing guidance related to the licensing of materials to and from third parties. In addition to music licensing, trademark application prosecution and trademark licensing agreements, Tamera advises clients on co-branding, product placement, endorsement and sponsorship agreements.
Tamera walked her first half-marathon in 2012. She also plans to take up skeet shooting after hitting three out of four clays this summer at Boy Scout camp.
