Practice/Organization Description
Tamera H. Bennett represents clients throughout Texas and Tennessee in entertainment, trademark and copyright law related matters. The primary focus of Tamera’s entertainment practice is music publishing catalog administration. She works extensively with “estate” clients in reclamation of copyrights under the 1909 Copyright Act and licensing of song and master catalogs.
Tamera works one-on-one with clients to develop and implement brand protection strategies for trademarks and copyrights. In addition to trademark application prosecution and licensing agreements, Tamera advises clients on co-branding, product placement, endorsement and sponsorship agreements.
Tamera was elected in 2009 to serve a three year term on the Board of Governors for the Texas Chapter of The Grammys (NARAS). She is a past chair of the State Bar of Texas Entertainment & Sports Law section, is a founding board member of the Women Business Owners of Denton County, and is a former adjunct professor at Dallas Baptist University. Tamera frequently lectures to attorneys and business owners on intellectual property and entertainment law matters.
In addition to her law practice, Tamera is the owner and president of Farm To Market Music, LLC, a full service song administration company. Tamera was named a “2006 Best Lawyer in Dallas Under 40” by D Magazine. She received her law degree from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law and her undergraduate degree in Recording Industry Studies from Middle Tennessee State University.
