Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health

The Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH) was enacted in 2009, as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The Act seeks to promote the adoption and use of health information technology. One of the key provisions of the Act establishes a national network of electronic health records.
