2026 Fish and Wildlife Filing Fees Increase

Effective January 1, 2026, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife has increased its fees and are reflect below. 

  • Negative Declaration or a Mitigated Negative Declaration, the new filing fee is $3,043.75. 
  • Environmental Impact Report, the new filing fee is $4,227.50. 
  • Environmental document prepared pursuant to a Certified Regulatory Program, the filing fee has been increased to $1,437.25.  
  • County Clerk administrative fees begin at $50.00.  

Prior to filing a Notice of Exemption or Notice of Determination, please check with the County Clerk to verify the current administrative fee.
