  • In Idaho, former U.S. Congressman Raul Labrador defeated incumbent AG Lawrence Wasden in the Republican primary election for the post. Wasden, who has served five terms, is the state’s longest-serving AG. Among Labrador’s key campaign themes is his promise to aggressively act against federal government “overreach.”
  • In Minnesota, Doug Wardlow, who was the Republican Party’s nominee for AG in 2018, will continue to run in the August primary for AG even after losing the Republican endorsement to business attorney Jim Schultz at the party’s convention. Wardlow’s entry sets up at least a three-way primary race for the GOP nomination to challenge incumbent Democratic AG Keith Ellison. Among Wardlow’s key campaign themes is fighting what he called the “swamp” in the Minnesota GOP.
