  • California AG Rob Bonta and New York AG Letitia James launched a joint investigation into possible violations of state and federal pay equity and employment discrimination laws by the National Football League (NFL).
  • The joint investigation follows several recent public allegations of discrimination and workplace misconduct at the NFL. AGs Bonta and James have issued subpoenas to the NFL seeking information regarding allegations of harassment, gender and race discrimination, and gender pay disparities.
  • We have previously covered the District of Columbia’s lawsuit against the NFL for concealing a toxic culture from fans and a letter sent by James and five other AGs to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell expressing concern over reports of gender discrimination and allegations of a hostile work environment.
