USCIS announced the initial registration period for fiscal year 2023 H-1B cap will open at noon Eastern on March 1, 2022 and run through noon Eastern on March 18, 2022.  During this period, prospective petitioners and representatives will be able to submit registrations using the online H-1B registration system.   USCIS will assign a confirmation number to each registration submitted which may be used to track registrations.  Again, USCIS will utilize the myUSCIS online portal for electronic registration and petitioners/representatives will be required to pay the $10 registration fee for each registration submitted on behalf of each beneficiary.

Registrants (inclusive of US employers and US agents) will be able to create new registrant accounts beginning at noon Eastern on February 21, 2022.  Representatives and registrants must wait until March 1st to enter beneficiary information and submit registrations with the requisite registration fee.

If USCIS receives enough registrations by March 18th, the government will randomly select registrations and send selection notifications to registrants through myUSCIS online. USCIS will notify account holders concerning registration selection by March 31, 2022.

As a reminder, the H-1B cap registration/lottery occurs just one time per year.  An H-1B cap-subject petition may only be filed by a petitioner whose registration for the beneficiary named in the H-1B petition was selected in the H-1B registration process.
