CMS Extends Deadline for Hardship Exception Applications – On February 26, 2016, CMS updated its online instructions for submitting a hardship exception application to reflect that hardship exception applications for eligible professionals, eligible hospitals, and critical access hospitals will now be due July 1, 2016. As previously reported, CMS posted a revised application and instructions for the hardship exception from Meaningful Use program penalties on January 22, 2016.
