The Arkansas Water Resource Center (“AWRC”) posted an article in its publication Arkansas Water News titled:
AWRC Water Quality Lab Still Accepting Samples
The AWRC article notes that:
. . . amid the COVID-19 pandemic, we are taking necessary precautions and will continue to accept water samples for analysis.
The article cites as users of its sampling services “agencies, researchers, producers, and others who are able to safely collect water samples during these times.”
The article describes:
- Safety measures (including sample drop-off station)
- Description of lab operations
- General laboratory resources
The AWRC is a water resource institution. It was established, along with similar institutions at land-grant universities, through the 1964 passage of the federal Water Resources Act. The organization states that in cooperation with the U.S. Geological Survey and the National Institute of Water Resources it has “helped local, state and federal agencies learn to manage Arkansas’ water resources for more than 30 years.”
