On April 15, 2020, the California Supreme Court scheduled oral argument in the much-anticipated California Supreme Court public retirement case, Alameda County Deputy Sheriff's Association, et al. v. Alameda County Employees' Retirement Association, et al. (State Of California), for May 5, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. In this case, the Court will consider the constitutionality of one aspect of the California Public Employees’ Pension Reform Act of 2013 and, potentially, the parameters of the “California Rule” governing legislative and administrative modifications to rules regarding public retirement benefit determinations applicable to current employees.

The argument will be held by video or telephone conference, and it is viewable to the public via livestream through the judicial branch website at: http://www.courts.ca.gov.

Per Court rules, a decision in the case is to be rendered within 90 days of the completion of oral argument.
