Connecticut: On August 4, the Connecticut Insurance Department issued a notice to all producers and insurers transacting business in Connecticut to advise the industry that it is discontinuing issuing temporary insurance producer licenses for new resident applicants. Temporary resident insurance producer license applications filed with the Connecticut Insurance Department on or before August 13, 2020, that meet the requirements of the notice, will be approved.

Georgia: On August 5, Governor Kemp signed SB 359 establishing immunity for claims arising from entities’ premises, the manufacture of personal protective equipment, and the provision of medical care unless the defendant’s actions constitute gross negligence, willful or wanton misconduct, or reckless or intentional infliction of harm. Additionally, the law includes provisions providing the defendant with a rebuttable presumption of assumption of the risk by the claimant.
