Welcome to the March edition of the Alston & Bird CPSC Recall Snapshot.

The CPSC has been very aggressive over the past month. This past Friday, the Commission announced a record $15.45 million civil penalty against a Chinese manufacturer and its U.S. sales division for failure to timely report alleged defects with a humidifier. The penalty was the maximum allowed under the CPSIA and is nearly $10 million more than the next-highest civil penalty ever issued by the Commission.
