  • District of Columbia AG Brian Schwalb reached a settlement with the Washington Commanders, former owner Daniel Snyder, the National Football League, and Commissioner Roger Goodell to resolve allegations that they violated the DC Consumer Protection Procedures Act by misleading fans about the team’s investigation into a toxic workplace culture.
  • The settlement resolves a previously reported lawsuit in which the District alleged that the defendants made misleading statements and failed to disclose information related to an outside-counsel investigation into a hostile work environment and allegations of sexual harassment involving Snyder and others.
  • The District further alleged that the team and Snyder misled the public regarding their knowledge of and Snyder’s participation in creating the hostile environment.
  • Under the settlement, the Commanders must pay $1 million to the District and commit to continuing to maintain a human resources department anti-harassment policy and investigation protocol for at least three years.
