On June 17, 2019, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (“USTR”) will hold a public hearing related to the fourth list of Chinese products that could be subject to additional ad valorem duty of up to 25 percent. This list of products covers Chinese imports with a value $300 billion. If approved, the list would extend coverage of the tariffs to essentially all imports from China.

Comments requesting exclusion of products from the list will be accepted by USTR until the day of the hearing, June 17, 2019. Comment should address your perspective on whether imposing increased duties on a particular product would be effective to obtain the elimination of China’s acts, policies, and practices, and whether maintaining or imposing additional duties on a particular product would cause disproportionate economic harm to U.S. interests, including companies and consumers.
