About this event

Ethics and Technology Credits You'll Enjoy, PLUS Mental Well Being & Resilience Strategies You Can Use!

Don’t worry, this is not just ANOTHER program about the impact of the pandemic on the practice of law. We have all endured the COVID 19 pandemic and heard ad nauseum about its’ disruptive effects. (Some folks have even suggested that we coin a new medical term called PDF (Pandemic Discussion Fatigue).

Nevertheless, it is undeniable that the events of the last few years have impacted our professional lives in more ways than even the many that we can readily identify. So, the time is ripe to collectively re-examine what we need to do to take care of ourselves and take care of business (as we more frequently may be doing both simultaneously). While we can’t predict the future of the practice of law, we can safely say that nothing will ever be quite the same.

Original vignettes written and co-produced by ReelTime CLE founders Michael Kahn, LD, LPC and Chris Osborn, Esq. will serve as the catalyst for a practical and informative consideration of the duty of competence and how it has expanded and metamorphosized in these times of the “new normal” (sorry, another term we could do without hearing!). Join your colleagues for a lively discussion of practical strategies for individual and organizational well-being designed to help you meet your ethical obligations and better serve your clients.

This program has entertained, challenged, and provided practical guidance to hundreds of attorneys throughout North Carolina.

FAQs

Um, hey, hasn't this program been presented before?

Well, yes and no. This program was offered by Lawyers Mutual Liability Insurance of North Carolina for al its insureds virtually in the Spring of 2022, so if you attended that program, you may already be familiar with the original film and the basic content. However, that program was presented to over 1000 attorneys, and included a roundtable discussion with several local malpractice defense attorneys, whereas this one wil be in a more intimate setting and will allow for more through consideration of the subject matter.

Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?

Feel free to email: chris@reeltimecle.com or call: 704-800-0277 before the workshop with any questions regarding the registration process. Philosophical questions or prying personal questions, however, will have to wait until the workshop begins.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, we have sophisticated technical doohickeymajigs that allow wireless/virtual/mobile/cybersmart check in. Feel free to bring your printed ticket just in case there is any issue with your registration, or in the event you want to make paper airplanes and fly them at the presenter when he cracks a painfully unfunny joke.

What is the refund policy?

You may cancel and receive a refund at any time before 5:00 P.M the day before the event. On the day of the workshop, refunds are typically given only for unforeseeable exigent circumstances (medical or personal emergencies, last-minute court hearings, and the like). If you are unable to attend for any reason of that sort, or something similar, and no one else from your firm is willing and able to take your place, please give us as much advance notice as possible, and we will see what we can do (based on such factors as whether the event is sold out, whether you invite us to come do some CLE or PD workshops for your firm, etc.).
