The Federal Communications Commission has approved its fifth and sixth sets of COVID-19 telehealth program applications, totaling $11.19 million for 26 providers and $8.36 million for 33 providers, respectively. The FCC is approving applications on a rolling basis until it spends a total of $200 million. Since the first set of awards was announced on April 16, 2020, the FCC has spent $33.26 million for 82 providers.

Below are the recent awards for New York organizations.

Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, was awarded $862,950 to provide remote patient-monitoring services to pediatric patients who suffer from at least one pre-existing chronic condition, such as asthma, cardiac disease, diabetes or an immunocompromised system, and are dependent on ongoing monitoring of their condition to ensure that they remain in reasonable health.

Behavioral Health Services North in Plattsburgh, was awarded $39,181 for connected devices, monitors, and software licenses to provide therapy, medication management, health monitoring, and rehabilitation services via remote patient monitoring and telehealth to patients at risk for COVID-19.

Helio Health in Syracuse, was awarded $504,034 for laptops, tablets, and other telehealth equipment to help it remotely monitor and treat patients with COVID-19 and hold voice and video consultations, to ensure continued care for the patient population while protecting the healthcare workforce.

Hope House Outpatient Clinic in Albany, was awarded $8,586 to purchase computer equipment to help it treat patients with substance abuse disorders while maintaining social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic.

OLV Human Services in Lackawanna, was awarded $174,840 to support the cost of connected devices and telemedicine solutions used to remotely treat COVID-19-vulnerable populations using video telehealth applications throughout Erie and Niagara counties.
