The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York has ruled that the Department of Homeland Security Secretary exceeded her authority when announcing the early termination of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haiti. Through this ruling, the court has restored Haiti’s TPS designation through February 3, 2026. The federal government will mostly likely appeal the decision.
