On September 14th the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) released a report detailing the effects of sequestration—the process by which major across-the-board cuts will automatically be made to government programs if an alternative deal is not approved before the end of the year. The Hill reports that the sequester will cut $11 billion from Medicare, $2.5 billion from the National Institutes of Health, and $318 million from the FDA.
