What Caused the Iannuzzi Manetta & Co. Data Breach?

The Iannuzzi Manetta & Co. data breach was only recently announced, and more information is expected in the near future. However, Iannuzzi’s filing with the Attorney General of Maine provides some important information on what led up to the breach. According to this source, on August 1, 2024, Iannuzzi learned that its computer network had been encrypted by hackers, which shut down the company’s operations. In response, Iannuzzi’s IT team shut down its network and then launched an investigation with the help of outside cybersecurity experts.

After learning that sensitive consumer data was accessible to an unauthorized party, Iannuzzi Manetta & Co. reviewed the compromised files to determine what information was leaked and which consumers were impacted. While the breached information varies depending on the individual, it may include your name, driver’s license number, Social Security Number, health insurance policy information, medical record number, patient account number, and financial account number.
