In an extraordinary measure, Governor J.B. Pritzker imposed a “stay at home” order effective Saturday March 21, 2020, at 5 PM CST until April 7, 2020, for residents of the state of Illinois, becoming the third governor to do so. Residents will still be able to pick up food from restaurants, and go to grocery stores, pharmacies or gas stations. Airports and all roads will remain open to traffic. In a press conference late Friday, Governor Pritzker urged all “nonessential” businesses to cease operations. He requested that all people work from home if possible.
