This primer is written to help readers attain a working knowledge of the basics of IP rights and raise important considerations for protecting a developer’s technology. This whitepaper is written with U.S. law in mind, excluding IP considerations related to government funding. International development or commercialization and cross-border transactions are also outside the scope of this whitepaper, although these topics eventually become important for many developers.
