Not really a surprise.
As we have expected, President Trump this week nominated John Ring, former law partner of former Board Chairman Philip Miscimarra, to fill the vacancy on the National Labor Relations Board that was created when Mr. Miscimarra left in early December.
Mr. Ring is a management-side labor lawyer, but according to his firm bio, he has also provided training and counseling on the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Family and Medical Leave Act.
Assuming Mr. Ring is confirmed by the Senate, the Board will return to its 3-2 Republican majority, which was in place before Mr. Miscimarra stepped down.
On a related note, our own David Phippen provides an excellent summary of the 3-2 "pro-employer" Board decisions issued just before Mr. Miscimarra's departure. Good stuff!
